NOTICE OF RATE INCREASE
The Starr Water Supply Corporation Board of Directors held a public meeting on May 9, 2024, and voted to increase the monthly rates for water service for all members. This increase is due to a number of factors. The first is a dramatic increase in the cost of parts & supplies, treatment chemicals, and electricity. The second factor is the immediate need for a new well and pump station to replace a failing well, deteriorating pump station, and leaking ground storage tank.
The board did an extensive rate study and concluded that they will implement a series of small increases across a 5 year period.
These new rates will take effect 30 days after this board decision, in June, and the new monthly rates will begin starting with the June billing cycle. The rate changes are as follows:

$6.25 per 1,000 gallons for 10,001 gallons to 30,000 gallons $6.25 $5.75
$7.50 per 1,000 gallons for 30,001 gallons and over $7.50 $6.75
The board of directors also passed a five year plan with similar increases in the gallonage charges for the billing cycle in January of each year.
